BREAKING: Penn State’s Desperate Gamble—Fired Temple Coach Stan Drayton Hired as Running Backs Coach!

**Penn State’s Controversial Hire: Is Stan Drayton the Right Choice for Running Backs Coach?**

In a move that has left Penn State fans scratching their heads, the Nittany Lions have officially hired Stan Drayton as their new running backs coach. The decision comes just weeks after Drayton was fired as the head coach of Temple, where he posted a disappointing 9-25 record over three seasons. With Ja’Juan Seider leaving for Notre Dame, Penn State was in need of a new leader for their backfield—but is Drayton really the right choice?

### **A Questionable Track Record**

Drayton’s tenure at Temple was anything but successful. His teams consistently struggled, and after a 3-9 finish in 2023, the university decided to part ways with him before the season even concluded. Given this history, Penn State fans have every reason to be skeptical. If Drayton couldn’t turn around a struggling Temple program, how much impact can he really have on one of the Big Ten’s top teams?

That said, Drayton does have experience at major programs. He previously served as the running backs coach at Ohio State, Texas, and Florida, working with elite talent and helping recruit some top-tier players. His past success in developing running backs, including Ezekiel Elliott during his time with the Buckeyes, could be what Penn State is banking on.

### **A Desperate Move?**

With Seider’s departure, Penn State needed a quick replacement, but hiring a recently fired head coach with a losing record seems like a risky move. Was this truly the best option available? Or is head coach James Franklin making a panic hire?

Only time will tell whether Drayton can silence his critics and prove that his struggles as a head coach don’t define him as a position coach. But for now, Penn State fans have every reason to be skeptical.
