Good News: NHRA legend John force released from hospital one month after fierg crash
NHRA legend John Force has been released from the hospital and is now undergoing outpatient care in California, one month after his fiery crash at the Virginia NHRA Nationals ¹. Force suffered a traumatic brain injury, a fractured sternum and a right wrist injury in the crash, which occurred on June 23 at Virginia Motorsports Park ¹.
The 75-year-old NHRA icon was initially taken to a medical center in Virginia before being transferred to Barrow Neurological Institute in Arizona for rehabilitation ¹ ². Force spent nearly a month at the institute, where he received treatment for his injuries ¹ ².
Force’s family, including his daughters Brittany, Courtney, Adria and Ashley, as well as his wife Laurie, have been by his side throughout his recovery ². His daughter Brittany shared an update on Instagram, saying “After 30 days, my dad is finally heading home, where we will continue outpatient therapy ¹.”
Force will continue to work with therapists specializing in traumatic brain injuries and will undergo occupational and physical therapy to address lingering short-term memory and cognitive issues ¹ ².
