TIM GAJSER SUFFERS SETBACK IN RECOVERY FROM …

Ljubljana, Slovenia – Tim Gajser, the five-time MXGP World Champion, has suffered a setback in his recovery from a broken jaw injury sustained on December 13, 2024. The Slovenian rider underwent surgery to repair two broken bones in his jaw after a horrific crash at Mantova.

According to sources close to the rider, Gajser’s jaw is giving him problems again, with the 28-year-old experiencing discomfort and pain while eating and speaking. The injury has also forced Gajser to modify his training program, as he is currently unable to wear a helmet or participate in high-impact activities.

“I’m frustrated and disappointed with this setback,” Gajser said in a statement. “I was making good progress in my recovery, but now I need to take a step back and focus on getting my jaw fully healed. I’m working closely with my medical team to get back on track as soon as possible.”

Gajser’s injury has cast doubt on his participation in the upcoming MXGP season, which is scheduled to kick off in February 2025. The Slovenian rider was expected to be a strong contender for the title, but his injury may force him to miss the opening rounds of the championship.

“We’re taking things one day at a time and focusing on getting Tim back to full health,” said Gajser’s team manager. “We’ll reassess his condition in the coming weeks and make a decision on his participation in the MXGP season.”
