EXCLUSIVE: Lost Jimi Hendrix Recordings Uncovered From…
Date: November 8, 2024
London, UK – A treasure trove of previously unknown Jimi Hendrix recordings has been discovered, shedding new light on the legendary guitarist’s creative process.
A secret recorder, hidden in Hendrix’s London flat, captured intimate jam sessions, song sketches, and experimental tracks between 1968-1970.
“The tapes were hidden behind a false wall,” revealed Emma Taylor, Hendrix’s niece, who inherited the flat. “We had no idea they existed.”
The recordings, totaling over 100 hours, feature:
1. Unfinished songs, including a 12-minute epic, “Galactic Blues.”
2. Experimental fusion of rock, jazz, and classical music.
3. Hendrix’s spoken word poetry and storytelling.
4. Collaborations with unknown musicians.
Experts estimate the recordings could yield 20-30 new songs.
“This is a game-changer for Hendrix fans,” said historian and author, John McDermott. “These recordings humanize Jimi, showcasing his creative struggles and genius.”
The tapes are set to be released in a forthcoming box set, “Jimi Hendrix: The Lost Sessions,” in 2025.
