Kevin Costner has finally spoken out about the fan outrage surrounding his character’s death in the hit series Yellowstone. In an exclusive interview with E! News at the 2024 Governors Awards in Los Angeles, Costner addressed the backlash, stating that fans have a right to express their opinions ¹.
The actor, who played John Dutton III for four and a half seasons, revealed that he had pitched two different endings for his character to series creator Taylor Sheridan. However, the final decision was ultimately up to the producers.
Costner also expressed his gratitude for the experience of working on Yellowstone, saying it “really changed” him. He’s now focused on his new project, Horizon: An American Saga, a four-part movie anthology that premiered in June ¹.
