BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS – NOVEMBER 25, 2024

NBA legend Larry Bird was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual NBA Legends Ceremony, held last night at the TD Garden in Boston.

The award, presented by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, recognizes Bird’s outstanding contributions to the game of basketball, both on and off the court.

Bird, a 12-time NBA All-Star and 3-time NBA Champion, was visibly moved as he accepted the award, thanking his family, teammates, and coaches for their support throughout his career.

“This award is not just a recognition of my own achievements, but also a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone who has helped me along the way,” Bird said.

The ceremony, attended by numerous NBA legends and dignitaries, featured a video tribute to Bird’s illustrious career, highlighting his most memorable moments on the court.

Bird’s Lifetime Achievement Award is the latest addition to his impressive collection of accolades, which includes his induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1998.
