JUST IN:Guerrero Jr. Makes History with…
TORONTO, ON – August 12, 2025
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. etched his name in the record books tonight, becoming the youngest player in Major League Baseball history to reach 500 career home runs.
Guerrero Jr.’s milestone blast came in the bottom of the 8th inning against the New York Yankees, securing a 5-3 victory for the Toronto Blue Jays.
“I’m speechless,” Guerrero Jr. said, holding his helmet and bat aloft. “This moment is for my family, teammates, and the amazing Blue Jays fans.”
The 25-year-old first baseman has been on a tear this season, hitting .325 with 35 home runs and 90 RBIs.
“Vladdy’s achievement is a testament to his dedication and natural talent,” said Blue Jays manager, John Schneider. “He’s a leader and a cornerstone of our franchise.”
Guerrero Jr.’s 500th home run places him alongside legendary company:
– 2nd youngest to reach 500 HR (behind Alex Rodriguez)
– 4th Canadian-born player to achieve the feat
– 1st Blue Jays player to reach 500 HR before age 26
The Toronto crowd erupted in celebration, chanting “M-V-P!” as Guerrero Jr. rounded the bases.
